He is originally from the Fiji Islands and educated in Australia , he is a graduate of the Swiss Hotel Association Management School Les Roches where he graduated in 1987. His career spans nigh 40 years in over 10 countries from Fiji & Australia to Europe and just over 30 years in Latin American between Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil & Mexico where he now resides in his present role as Director of Marketing & Operations of Punta Mita.

Carl's career was a varied one having spent 17 years with Hyatt International 7 of which as a General Manager of the Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo which he opened and the Park Hyatt Mendoza. It was in Mendoza that Carl created the Latin American Masters of Food & Wine in 2005 which is recalled in Mendoza as one of the most important destination events of the province and remains on the calendar of the Province as it does the Masters of Food & Wine concept in Park Hyatts. In Sao Paulo Carl created the Sao Paulo Food & Wine Festival in conjunction with local newspaper Estadao. Carl also spent 7 seasons in Valle de Las Lenas, Mendoza Argentina , had a restaurant in Punta del Este, Uruguay over the same period , opened a Catering Company with renowned Argentine Chef Gato Dumas , opened the very 1st restaurant in Puerto Madero , Buenos Aires in 1994 , and was General Manager of the St Regis in Punta Mita for 5 years where he created the Punta Mita Gourmet & Golf Classic which this year celebrates it's 9th Edition. He also had a stint at Mayakoba Resort in Playa del Carmen, Cancun as VP Marketing & Operations creating a number of different events and participation in the organization of the OHL Mayakoba PGA Classic.

Carl an avid golfer has been in Punta Mita for the last few years a passionate promoter of what is today one of the Americas leading luxury destinations.
