He graduated from LSU in the United States with a Bs. in Business Administration and Marketing. Member of the Society of Entrepreneurs of Latin America at Stanford University.

As a 'backpacker' through Europe and Africa; he discovered his passion for traveling and cultural exchange.

At age of 22, he became Marketing Manager of Sweet and Coffee, where he enters the Marketing Hall of Fame.

He studied a master’s degree in Sustainable Tourism at Monash University, Australia, one of the most prestigious universities in tourism.

Minister Olsen worked at the Melbourne Museum of Sport and executed a research project at the Fiji´s Ministry of Tourism.

In 2015 Minister Olsen returned to Ecuador and started his most important project: “Hacienda La Danesa”. In almost six years he managed to position La Danesa, as one of the most important high-end properties in the country, creating authentic experiences where simplicity and luxury are paramount.

Niels Olsen´s experience and knowledge of the tourism sector, as well as his entrepreneurial spirit, boosted his appointment as Minister of Tourism in the Government of President Guillermo Lasso.

En sus vacaciones 'mochileaba' por Europa y África; y así descubrió su pasión por viajar y el intercambio cultural.

Tras su graduación, a los 22 años, se convierte en el Gerente de Marketing de Sweet and Coffee, donde ingresó al Marketing Hall of Fame.

En Australia estudia una Maestría en Turismo Sostenible en Monash University, una de las universidades de mayor prestigio en la carrera de Turismo. Trabajó para el Museo de Deportes de Melbourne y se destacó en un proyecto de investigación para el Ministerio de Turismo de Fiji.

Regresó a Ecuador en 2015 y emprendió en su proyecto de vida más importante: Hacienda La Danesa, que en casi seis años logró posicionarse como una de las propiedades high end más importantes del país, creando experiencias auténticas donde la simplicidad y el lujo se encuentran.

Su experiencia y conocimiento del sector, y su espíritu emprendedor, sumados a su pasión por el turismo, son importantes credenciales que avalan la designación de Niels Olsen como Ministro de Turismo en el Gobierno del Encuentro.
