Walter Regidor

Vice President, Development-Conversions, Marriott International


Walter Regidor is the Vice President of Development for Marriott International, responsible for the conversion process of non-Marriott hotels to a Marriott brand in the Caribbean & Latin America (CALA) region.

Utilizing his vast experience as a hotel operator, understanding of brand differentiators, local competitive knowledge, keen discretion and sound judgement, Walter determines what aspects of a potential conversion can be accepted or if improvement is required. Working closely with Owners and Internal departments, enables these transactions and assists stakeholders to understand potential enhancements opportunities and efficiencies in the current and new business model. He also plays a key role on preparing Property Improvement Plans required to vest properties potential when converting to the appropriate Marriott brand.

In his previous role, Walter was Vice President of Operations, providing operational leadership. His team led service excellence results by consistent execution of initiatives, service programs and quality standards. Concurrently, Walter was also an Area General Manager, overseeing six hotels in Mexico City.

Walter is a thirtyfive-year Marriott International veteran. Since entering management ranks, he has held positions such as Area Training Director, Director of Operations, and Hotel Manager. Before joining the CALA team, Walter served as Cluster General Manager in Perú.

Walter is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

He and his family reside in South Florida.
